FEB 15, 2026 ORDER OF WORSHIP
WELCOME Rev. Jacob T. Jackson
ANNOUNCEMENTS Liturgist
PRELUDE Dr. Banks
INVOCATION (Remain Seated) Liturgist
Wise and faithful God,
You call us not only to believe, but to listen; not only to gather, but to obey. As we come into your presence, quiet our pride, soften our resistance, and open us to your wisdom.
Teach us to trust your ways over our own, and to receive your guidance with humility. Shape our hearts so that we may be formed by your truth rather than hardened by our own desires.
Amen.

**UMH HYMN #435 “O God of Every Nation”
Verse 1
O God of every nation
Of every race and land
Redeem the whole creation
With Your almighty hand
Where hate and fear divide us
And bitter threats are hurled
In love and mercy guide us
And heal our strife-torn world
Verse 2
From search for wealth and power
And scorn of truth and right
From trust in bombs that shower
Destruction through the night
From pride of race and station
And blindness to Your way
Deliver every nation
Eternal God we pray
Verse 3
Lord strengthen all who labor
That all may find release
From fear of rattling saber
From dread of war's increase
When hope and courage falter
Lord let Your voice be heard
With faith that none can alter
Your servants under gird
Verse 4
Keep bright in us the vision
Of days when war shall cease
When hatred and division
Give way to love and peace
Till dawns the morning glorious
When truth and justice reign
And Christ shall rule victorious
O'er all the world's domain

LORD’S PRAYER
SCRIPTURE READING Jude 1:5-13 NRSV Liturgist
5 Now I desire to remind you, though you are fully informed, once and for all, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
--
6 And the angels who did not keep their own position but deserted their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deepest darkness for the judgment of the great day.
--
7 Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which, in the same manner as they, indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
--
8 Yet in the same way these dreamers also defile the flesh, reject authority, and slander the glorious ones.,
--
9 But when the archangel Michael disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring a condemnation of slander against him but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
--
10 But these people slander whatever they do not understand, and they are destroyed by those things that, like irrational animals, they know by instinct.
--
11 Woe to them! For they go the way of Cain and abandon themselves to Balaam’s error for the sake of gain and perish in Korah’s rebellion.
--
12 These are blots on your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, feeding themselves. They are waterless clouds carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, uprooted;
--
13 wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the deepest darkness has been reserved forever.

SPECIAL MUSIC Dr. Banks
SCRIPTURE READING 2 Timothy 3:1-9 NIV Rev. Jacob T Jackson
1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
--
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
--
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
--
4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
--
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
--
6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,
--
7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
--
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.
--
9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

SERMON “Jude: Echoes” Rev. Jacob T. Jackson
**UMH HYMN #560 “Help Us Accept Each Other”
Verse 1
Help us accept each other
As Christ accepted us
Teach us as sister brother
Each person to embrace
Be present Lord among us
And bring us to believe
We are ourselves accepted
And meant to love and live
Verse 2
Teach us O Lord Your lessons
As in our daily life
We struggle to be human
And search for hope and faith
Teach us to care for people
For all - not just for some
To love them as we find them
Or as they may become
Verse 3
Let Your acceptance change us
So that we may be moved
In living situations
To do the truth in love
To practice your acceptance
Until we know by heart
The table of forgiveness
And laughter's healing art
Verse 4
Lord for today's encounters
With all who are in need
Who hunger for acceptance
For and for righteous and bread
We need new eyes for seeing
New hands for holding on
Renew us with Your Spirit
Lord free us make us one
FELLOWSHIP BLESSING Youth Representative
God of patience and truth,
As we share time together, help us practice wisdom in how we speak and listen. Let our fellowship be a place where humility grows and where we encourage one another to walk faithfully in the way you set before us. Send us out attentive to your voice and willing to follow.
Amen.
