Shape us by Your Spirit.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ,
who is the fullness of Your glory.

Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING Luke 10:38-42 NRSV Liturgist

38 Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him.,

--

39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus’s feet and listened to what he was saying.

--

40 But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her, then, to help me.”

--

41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things,

--

42 but few things are needed—indeed only one. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.”

**UMH HYMN #79 “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”

Verse 1

Holy holy holy

Lord God Almighty

Early in the morning

Our song shall rise to Thee

Holy holy holy

Merciful and mighty

God in three persons

Blessed Trinity

Verse 2

Holy holy holy

All the saints adore Thee

Casting down their golden crowns

Around the glassy sea

Cherubim and seraphim

Falling down before Thee

Which wert and art

And evermore shalt be

Verse 3

Holy holy holy

Though the darkness hide Thee

Though the eye of sinful man

Thy glory may not see

Only Thou art holy

There is none beside Thee

Perfect in power

In love and purity

Verse 4

Holy holy holy

Lord God Almighty

All Thy works shall praise Thy name

In earth and sky and sea

Holy holy holy

Merciful and mighty

God in three persons

Blessed Trinity

FELLOWSHIP BLESSING Youth Representative

Gracious God,

You are the One who meets us on the mountain
and walks with us in the valley.

We thank You for the food before us
and for the hands that prepared it.
Bless it, that it may nourish our bodies.

We give thanks in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
