JUNE 28, 2026 ORDER OF WORSHIP
WELCOME Worship Leader
OPENING PRAYER Worship Leader
God of wisdom and wonder,
As we gather in this place today, quiet the noise within us and around us so we may hear Your voice more clearly. Open our minds to Your truth, our hearts to Your grace, and our lives to Your calling. Remind us that worship is more than words we speak, it is the offering of our whole selves to You. Shape us through this time together so that we may leave renewed, encouraged, and ready to reflect Christ in the world. Amen.

OFFERING & OFFERTORY
**DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
OFFERTORY PRAYER Worship Leader
Faithful God,
You have entrusted us with gifts, resources, and opportunities to serve others in Your name. As we bring these offerings before You, we pray that they would become instruments of transformation in a broken world. Use them to feed the hungry, strengthen the weary, welcome the forgotten, and proclaim the hope of Christ where despair has taken root. Teach us to live not with fear or scarcity, but with trust in Your abundant love. May our generosity reflect the generosity You first showed to us. Amen.

JOYS AND CONCERNS Worship Leader
PASTORAL PRAYER
Holy and Compassionate God,
We come before You today carrying the stories of our lives… the joys that lift our spirits and the burdens that weigh heavily upon us. Thank You for Your constant presence through every season, for the ways You continue to sustain us even when we do not fully recognize it. We pause now to give thanks for the blessings among us and lift before You [JOYS, JOYS, JOYS]…
At the same time, we know that many hearts are hurting. Some among us are grieving losses that still feel fresh. Others are anxious about the future, struggling with illness, facing uncertainty, or carrying silent pain that few can see. We pray for those in our community and throughout the world who long for peace, justice, safety, and hope. Hear the concerns we place before You today, especially [CONCERNS, CONCERNS, CONCERNS]…
Transforming God, continue Your work within us and around us. Break down the walls that divide people from one another. Stir compassion where there is indifference, courage where there is fear, and mercy where there is bitterness. Help us to become people who not only speak of faith, but who live it through acts of kindness, justice, reconciliation, and love. May our lives bear witness to the renewing work of Christ in the world. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus, who taught us to pray together, saying…
LORD’S PRAYER Worship Leader
SCRIPTURE READING James 3:13-18 NRSV Worship Leader
13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
--
14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.
--
15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.
--
16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
--
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
--
18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
RESPONSE TO SCRIPTURE Worship Leader

SPECIAL MUSIC Dr. Banks
SERMON “Most Importantly” Rev. Karen Sadvari
**UMH HYMN #57 “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing”
VERSE 1
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace.
VERSE 2
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim, To spread thro’
all the earth abroad,
The honors of Thy name.
VERSE 3
Jesus, the name that charms my fears,
That bids our sorrows cease,
’Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
’Tis life and health and peace.
VERSE 4
He breaks the pow’r of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make
the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.
VERSE 5
He speaks and listening to his voice
New life the dead receive;
the mournful
Broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe
VERSE 6
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come;
And leap, ye lame, for joy.
VERSE 7
In Christ your head you then shall know
Shall feel your sins forgiven; anticipate
Your heaven below,
and own that love is heaven.
